Some agencies allow you to go dine to the most unthinkable places: into space, to the bottom of the ocean, to the top of a sequoia…
And they all promise a unique experience.
Well, I think these gentlemen had one of the most unique and unrepeatable experiences you will ever see: a dinner inside the tomb of Pharaoh Ramses XI, in the famous Valley of the Kings.
You can see in the pic the famous archaeologist Howard Carter (seated at the head of the table) and his team.
The servants are Egyptian (in the pure colonial spirit of the time…).
The one who took the photo was Lord Carnarvon, the financier of the enterprise.
He was also the one who, with his premature passing just a few months after this singular dinner, contributed (against his will) to the birth of the legend of the Curse of the Pharaohs.
Legend has it that a few hours later, Carnarvon and Carter entered Tutankhamun’s Burial chamber for the first time.
I have found nothing to prove (or disprove) this conjecture.
Nor anything that talks about what equipment was used to cook it.
Maybe those were the ones that were cursed…
By the way, do you know which machines I am sure do not bring any bad luck?
