{"id":4145,"date":"2021-01-20T14:32:41","date_gmt":"2021-01-20T13:32:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.virdex.it\/2021\/01\/20\/the-pending-coffee\/"},"modified":"2021-01-20T14:32:41","modified_gmt":"2021-01-20T13:32:41","slug":"the-pending-coffee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.virdex.it\/en\/2021\/01\/20\/the-pending-coffee\/","title":{"rendered":"The Pending Coffee"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Did you know 10th of december is the &#8220;<em>Caff\u00e9 sospeso<\/em>&#8221; International day?<\/p>\n<p>Unless if you&#8217;re not from that part of the world, it&#8217;s unlikely You&#8217;ve ever heard of &#8220;caff\u00e9 sospeso&#8221;, which translated sounds more or less like &#8220;pending coffee&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>In Naples, after World War II, a beautiful custom was born: people on occasion (especially when in a good mood, or when they had a happy event) used to leave the barista the money for an extra espresso, buying it for one of those customers who were going through a bad economic situation.<br \/>\nA beautiful act of charity: giving people a cheer-up warm coffee<\/p>\n<p>Nowadays, it seems this habit isn&#8217;t that common anymore.
